The Phoenix Project

The Pheonix Project by Gene Kim is a great book about running a modern software organization. It is a “leadership fable” about an executive who turns around a flailing organization – while ostensibly about “IT” organizations or “DevOps,” I think most software teams will see something familiar in the book.

I particularly liked its use of the wisdom from Lean Manufacturing – I strongly believe I would have gotten more out of The Toyota Way if I had read this book first.
